This is one of my new favorite shirts. It is a slightly stretchy, good-weight fabric that feels extremely comfortable against the skin. The buttons are super cute and even for someone busty like me, don't cause me to explode out of it or show unwanted skin. The details are super cute (ruffles, shaped sleeves) and the stitching is neat and high-quality. The neck tie is also easy to do up after you figure it out (here's a tip: attach the main collar and then slipknot the "tie" around it).
I got this shirt back in April (it’s August now), and I have worn it a few times. I find the fit flattering and stylish, and I do enjoy the way I look in it. The material is 100% synthetic, which I’m unfortunately learning is not my favorite. It just doesn’t feel good on the skin. If the top were a cotton blend, it would be much more comfortable and breathable—as it is, it is not suitable for warm weather (not even in the Pacific Northwest, which normally has rather temperate weather).
Then there’s the construction. The inside seams of both arms are extremely scratchy. I had to tuck fabric around the exposed glue so as not to irritate my skin. So if you have sensitive skin or have sensory issues regarding clothes, avoid this top. Also, some of the buttons do not feel securely attached—every time I put on this garment, I worry about a button falling off.
Purchased M38 size. I am 36 C bust with wide shoulders & long arms. The blouse fits nicely and is really elegant. The discomfort comes in where the interior stitches are on the sleeves. The scratchy seem work is the only thing detracting this from 5 stars.
I adore this shirt! I'd say it breathes pretty well and it is amazingly comfortable. I am a 36D-30-40 and I bought the large. It fits my average shoulders and gives a fairly functional range of motion. It also compliments my waist without hugging it uncomfortably. The flare at the bottom gives comfortable room for my hips. It looks great with an under or over-bust corset, with jeans/slacks, high-waisted skirt, and with or without the scarf. My only note for future buyers: A soft or sports bra is required if I don't want to strain the button across the bust. For a regular bra, I'd need the XL. If you're unsure or just want to be safe, I'd suggest going the next size up on the chart to allow room in the chest area.
